Prince Edward Middle School bands will entertain at 11:15

The Children's Festival welcomes a wide variety of entertainment and lots of exciting educational activities to Jarman Lawn to help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Heart of Virginia Festival. The musical duo Cody & BJ are returning to bring their high-energy audience participating musical show featuring their friends Roxie and Cheyenne. Ocean Encounter will also be returning with an exhibit that features a selection of live marine animals (horseshoes, crabs, sea stars, urchins, snails, crabs, etc.). New this year are the talents of local clown Kelly Golden, the Prince Edward Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Band led by Ms. Ariel Malony, and the Prince Edward High School Drama department directed by Ms. Amy Brown.

Cody & BJ, a husband & wife musical team, combine their love for children, the environment, and animals into lively, audience-interactive performances. All music and= activities are original creations, with Cody writing and producing the songs. They have five children of their own as well as many animals, including their two beautiful macaw parrots that accompany them.

The Children's Art Workshop

10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Lancaster Lawn

Come and join us in the Art Tent where we will be creating friendship bracelets. All supplies will be provided. Make sure to bring your imagination and take home a one-of-a-kind souvenir of the 25th annual Heart of Virginia Festival. This activity is free and is recommended for children over the age of three.
