Chair of the Board for the Heart of Virginia Festival, Chris Brochon, kicked off the days proceedings welcoming everyone to the 2002 festival and thanking everyone who helped make the festival happen including the sponsors. Joe McCutcheon then gave the invocation before Prince Edward County Middle School started off the music for the day. Later in the day there were performances from country singer Glen Shelton and an amazing mix of styles including Jazz, Bluegrass, Classical, and Soul from Old School Freight Train. |
