[Photo of an item of pottery at the Art Show] The Art Show was again housed to the side of its usual location as much of the front of Longwood is still blocked off after last year's fire. Many artists participated this year and congratulations are extended to all the winners of the juried show who are listed further down this page. Special thanks to the judges, Judy McReynolds and Eric Dearing.

The artists were once again treated to the music of Bill & Pam Gurley and The Southside Jazz Quartet who played on the Weyanoke Lawn. A very successful addition to this year's cultural events at the art show was a showcase on the Bicentennial Stage for young local bands. Several local acts took the chance to perform and the event was a very popular with young adults attending the festival. This was definitely a great new addition to the festival which we hope will return. Performing this year were Silent Scorn (pictured below) with Jeremy Clark on lead vocals, Nat Carter on rhythm and lead guitar, Nick Cordle on lead and rhythm guitar, and Kevin Reeves on drums. The other band pictured are Torrent with Justin Shear on guitar, Sean O'Brien on bass, and Nick Cusmiac on drums. Also performing but not pictured were Basic.
