At the Farmville Airport, Saturday, May 5, 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Celebrate the 23rd Anniversary of the Heart of Virginia Festival with a variety of entertainment for all ages!
Ball in the House is Boston's original Mouth Band. While listening to their two full-length releases, you may enjoy the drums or bass, but when you see them perform live you will wonder, "Hey, where are the instruments?" As you watch and listen, it will dawn on you-these six men are the instruments. All those sounds come out of six sets of vocal chords. Taking acapella into the realm of hip hop and R&B, Ball in the House is a hit with young and old alike. New Wave Nation is dedicated to performing the innovative music of the early 1980s new wave period. Music from the early days of MTV is back in a big way. If you remember bands like Devo, Flock of Seagulls, Duran Duran, and The Cure, then New Wave Nation is definitely the band to experience. Their stage show includes multimedia and lighting effects presented with eighties flare. But you haven't seen lighting until you've seen the fireworks that begin about 9:00. The Town of Farmville always provides a spectacular display that draws rave reviews. |

Following the fireworks enjoy a trip back to the disco era with Groove Spot. Relive that era of dancing, partying, and wild nightlife that never seemed to end. Groove Spot has performed to packed houses up and down the east coast. Audiences from 15 to 50 love their diverse instruments and powerful horn section. They are audience interactive with a high-energy performance level. There is no charge for the concert; however, parking is $10 per vehicle. All proceeds generated from parking fees go to the festival. |
