Test Your Flying Skills on the Virginia Aviation Museum's AirMobileAt the Farmville Shopping Center parking lot Buckle up and put on your pilot headphones as you prepare to take off in the Flight Simulator on board the Virginia Aviation Museum's AirMobile. This wings-on-wheels traveling exhibition brings a fun-filled educational overview of aviation and the thrill of flight. Discover how different wing designs behave as you watch changes in airflow in the AirMobile's Airfoils and Wind Tunnel exhibit. Examine the physical forces‹lift, thrust, drag and gravity‹experienced by aircraft during flight in Forces of Flight. Learn more about Virginia's long history in the Virginia Aviation Hall of Fame exhibition. It highlights six men and women and the significant contributions they have made to aviation. The Virginians depicted are Winchester's Admiral Richard E. Byrd, Roanoke's Louis Thaden, Richmond's Dick Merrill, Lynchburg's Chauncey Spencer, Roanoke's Martha W. Zillhardt, and Hampton's Christopher Kraft.
