Celebrate the 22nd Anniversary of the Heart of Virginia Festival with a variety of entertainment for all ages!

[Picture of Steve Bassett] Steve Bassett, a Virginia r & b legend with a recording studio located right here in Farmville, will be performing his unique style of music that has been characterized as a synthesis of America’s music. His tunes combine blues, r & b, gospel and rock & roll. Steve has co-authored the song "Sweet Virginia Breeze" with Robbin Thompson, which is being considered by the General Assembly as the state song of Virginia. Steve will be performing with his band from 6:00 to 7:30. Do not miss a chance to hear one of the top first-call studio soloists in the country!

[Picture of Beatlemania] Following Steve Bassett, receive the warmest of Heart of Virginia Welcomes from this year's festival chairman, Christy Mottley Murphy. Then get ready for a trip back in time with GetBack!, featuring Broadway and London cast members of Beatlemania in a two-hour show that highlights the three major eras of the Beatles' careers. Complete with authentic costumes, instruments, and characterizations, the show is geared toward the family audience. GetBack! has so perfected the "live Beatles concert that never was" that Ringo Starr himself sat in with the "lads". Experience the "next best thing" for yourself.

GetBack! will perform the first half of its show from 8 to 9 and the second half following the fireworks from about 9:30 to 10:30.

[Picture of Fireworks from the 1999 festival] The time-honored tradition of fireworks will take place at about 9:00 with a spectacular display provided by the Town of Farmville that is always a crowd-pleasing event.

There is no charge for the concert; however, parking is $5 per vehicle. All proceeds generated from parking fees go to the festival.
