The Children's Festival
Lawn of Jarman Auditorium, 10 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
The Children's Festival welcomes the millennium with non-stop performances
and lots of exciting and educational activities on the lawn. Juggler Jonathan
Austin returns with his magic and comedy. This year do not miss the Mr. Wizard's
Everyday Energy in Action Program. Also featured will be Grammy Award Winner
Barbara Bailey Hutchison. The Science-By-Van brings the unique experience of
the Science Museum of Virginia, offering informal educational experiences that
are fun for all ages.

The Science Museum of Virginia's Science-By-Van from 10:00 until 3:30
sponsored by Wal-Mart Vision Centers located in Farmville, Lynchburg,
Chester, Tappahannock, Richmond, Glen Allen, Franklin, Mechanicsville,
Virginia Beach, Petersburg
The Science-By-Van includes 30 curiosity-provoking exhibits such as Match
the Bones, Arch Bridge, Hand Batter, and Bernoulli Blower, as well as
interesting workshops.

The Children's Art Workshop
10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Lancaster Lawn
All children are welcome to let their imagination soar at the Children's
Art Tent on the lawn in front of Lancaster Building. This year the project
is to make and decorate a Native American flip & stick game. All of the
materials will be available, along with volunteers who will help with
the instructions and assembly. This activity is free.
