The sight of the musicians in full Highland regalia, the haunting skirl of the Great Highland Bagpipe, and the beat of the drums makes for an event which will long be remembered and treasured.

Folk Salad is a mixture of vocal and instrumental folk music tossed by Mary Lynne Bumgarner, Gale Weismann, and Julia Wade. Their voices blend in tasty harmony as they accompany themselves with a variety of folk instruments including guitar, mountain dulcimer, banjo, psaltery, flute, fiddle and other folk instruments.

Folk Salad's repertoire includes traditional folk music with selections from Early American songs, Old English ballads, gospel music, and an ever-growing platter of original songs. Mary Lynne is the composer of the Lynchburg bicentennial theme song as well as Folk Salad's signature song, "Rivermont Avenue".
