The Opening Ceremonies took place there at 10 a.m. and Perry Carrington (pictured left), co-ordinator of the Downtown Stage show, welcomed everyone before introducing his daughter Bridget to the stage to sing the National Anthem. [Debbie Coffin] [City On A Hill] Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Heart Of Virginia Festival, Debbie Coffin, welcomed everyone to the festival and thanked all those who made it possible. Then gospel singers City On Hill kicked off the entertainment for the day. [Audience Members]

[Angie Miles & Perry Carrington] Later in the day the 6th annual Showcase Of Stars took place. Angela Miles from News Channel Six did a great job as this year's host. It was a pleasure to have her at the Heart Of Virginia Festival. [Talent Show Contest Winners]

  2. Ty Christopher- singing "Stand"

    4. The events at the Downtown Stage came to an end with a crowd-pleasing performance from local band Fantasy.
